Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) is looking for a Marine Technician (m/f, 100% employment, permanent contract) for immediate employment in the Research Infrastructure division.
Main responsibilities
This employee will be responsible for:
- The good working of the acoustic equipment (ADCP, singlebeam, multibeam and sub-bottom profilers) on board of the VLIZ research vessel Simon Stevin
- The installation and operation of acoustic equipment on other (research) vessels
- The operation of other instruments for bottom sampling and bottom mapping
- The operation of the VLIZ underwater robot ROV Genesis
- The execution of sampling and scientific surveys at sea (national and international campaigns)
- Data acquisition and processing of acoustic data
- General logistic services to (guest) scientists
