ISA draft framework for the regulation of seabed exploitation

On 13th March 2015, the ISA issued a “Report on the draft framework for the regulation of deep seabed exploitation activities”. The report is open for comment until May 15th. You are free to comment both individually and collectively, or through your relevant institutions/universities.  The Report highlights the Authority’s commitment to an open and inclusive dialogue with stakeholders in the development of the regulatory framework and recognition of the need to engage with a wider and multi-disciplinary audience of experts.

It is critical that robust scientific evidence and viewpoints are considered in this key document to advance the development of the Authority’s rules, regulations and procedures in terms of exploiting minerals from our seabed.
