Call for session proposals open until March 31, 2023
The next Symposiumwill take place from 13-17 January 2025 at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong SAR, China. DSBS17 aims to bring together experts from around the world who have strong interest in deep-sea biological science, biodiversity conservation, deep-sea environment policy and management for better protection of biodiversity and ecosystems.
As a tradition of the symposia series, the local organisation committee and DSBSoc would like to call for the proposal of sessions. Submissions from young scientists (Senior PhD candidates, postdocs, junior faculty) and particularly encouraged.
To submit a proposal, please fill the below template form, and send it by email to Prof. Pei-Yuan QIAN at the DSBS17 Secretariat (17dsbs@ust.hk), by March 31, 2023.
Names of potential speakers (not mandatory but useful)
Chair(s) will have the responsibility of selecting abstracts for oral presentations in their session, in collaboration with the local organisation committee.
Details of relevant logistics will be provided later.
As a token of appreciation, each session organiser will be waived from registration fee for DSBS17 (if his/her session can attract at least 6 talks). If the session attracts more than 12 talks, registration fees will also be waived for an additional session organiser. For invited speakers, DSBS17 will also provide partial financial support to cover registration and accommodation costs if the financial situation allows it.
